Lia Maivia, born Alipate Fifita, was a Samoan professional wrestling promoter and the matriarch of the famed Anoa'i wrestling dynasty. She was married to wrestler Peter Maivia, and together, they ran the Polynesian Pacific Pro Wrestling promotion in Hawaii.
Maivia was instrumental in helping to establish and promote the careers of several members of her family, including her grandson Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who went on to become one of the most successful and popular professional wrestlers in history.
Maivia passed away in 2008, but her legacy continues to live on through her family's contributions to the world of professional wrestling. She is remembered as a trailblazer and pioneer in the industry, breaking barriers for female promoters and helping to bring Polynesian wrestlers into the spotlight.
